What Woodworking Tools Do I Need
What you need depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If your are a new or experienced woodworker my blog will give you some insight into the choices you have.
One of the main concerns for someone entry the hobby of woodworking is cost of the tools and what do I need to get started.
I would recommend a table saw as a first tool. If you want to build your own cabinets a table saw with an extended table allows for cutting down plywood sheets as it provides better support. As an alternate a track saw and tracks as provided by Festool with support for the plywood sheet will allow for cutting to the size you need.
For new woodworkers concerned about safety Sawstop has a table saw that shuts down if you finger or other body parts touches the saw blade.
For furniture building
I recommend in addition to the Table Saw a Jointer and Planer for dimensioning and or finishing your wood pieces.
Again depending on your entry level you can start out with less expensive tools.
It is best to research the tool that interest you and read up on its specifications. I find a Bandsaw helpful in ripsawing wood and sometimes prefer this to a table saw but it is usually not the first tool you need. Again the size depends on your skill and needs for your project.
A Drill Press is very handy and should be a second or third tool for beginners.
If you plan to build a house you will need a good cordless drill, a sliding compound miter saw and a portable table saw on wheel you can take to the job site. Nailers for framing and finish work are also a benifit if you can afford them. Cordless, Corded or air tools with a compressor are choises you have as well. These choices depend on your budget as well as your needs.
Too look at the variety to tools available for purchase proceed to the various pages that suit your needs and interest and just right click with your mouse on the tool your interested in. It will take you to a site where you will see the price, shipping charges and detailed specifications.
